Resolution of the Ultrasound Doppler System Using Coherent Plane-Wave Compounding Technique

In this work, in the process of plane-wave ultrasound probing from different angles attainable spatial resolution was estimated on basis previously developed theory Doppler response formation. theoretical calculations coherent compounding signals conducted over period changing steering probing. For case an analytical expression for system sensitivity function field, which corresponds to point spread function, is obtained. a rectangular weighting window signals, determined by well-known sinc-function. The magnitude lateral inversely proportional range angles. It shown that theoretically resolution, when using technique compounding, good agreement with experimental data presented literature.
